How long is the quarantine process?

Although a person may not show symptoms, it is still possible to spread the virus. Thus, an authorized, public medical officer will advise on the required quarantine timeframe.

Can someone be quarantined at home?

An authorized, public medical officer overseeing the quarantine process for the patient will make a decision on the type of quarantine required.

What happens after the required days of Self-Quarantine have passed?

If someone was officially placed in quarantine on the instruction of an authorized, public medical officer then that officer will advise when self-quarantine has ended.

Once a person has officially been cleared by an authorized, public medical officer they may come out of self-quarantine and follow the general public health guidelines.

If a person develops symptoms during or after self-quarantine, then they should inform the public health official during a routine check-in call or contact the hotline 877-WELL (9355) or 800 –WELL (9355) for further guidance. If severely ill they should call the 811 Emergency Hotline or call ahead to the nearest Accident and Emergency Department for help and go in immediately.
