Mother’s Day Message from the Minister of Health

Port of Spain - May 11, 2025: The following is a Mother’s Day message from the Honourable, Dr. Lackram Bodoe, Minister of Health.

“As we celebrate this special occasion, it is my distinct pleasure, as Minister of Health, to extend heartfelt wishes to all mothers and, by extension, all women across Trinidad and Tobago. Happy Mother’s Day!

This year, our national celebration takes on added significance. For the first time in our country’s history, Her Excellency the President, the Honourable Prime Minister, and the Leader of the Opposition are all women, remarkable individuals who serve at the highest levels of leadership. Their presence is a powerful reflection of the strength, resilience, and influence of women in our society.

At the Ministry of Health, we continue to place strong emphasis on women’s health, and remain committed to delivering quality, equitable healthcare to every citizen.

Today, we also celebrate the joy of new life and extend special recognition to the mothers who welcomed their babies across our Regional Health Authorities on this meaningful day:

•           Eastern Regional Health Authority – Two births (one girl, one boy)

•           North West Regional Health Authority – Three births (three girls)

•           South West Regional Health Authority – Two births (one girl, one boy)

•           North Central Regional Health Authority - Three births (three girls)

To all our mothers, whether celebrating today as new parents or seasoned nurturers, we salute you. Thank you for your love, strength, and unwavering care. Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at the Ministry of Health”.
