About Cessation Clinics
The Ministry of Health offers free Cessation Clinic Services to the public through the Regional Health Authorities to help persons using tobacco products and struggling with tobacco dependency.
These clinics are designed to help users quit smoking and provide techniques that will aid persons in staying tobacco free.
The roles and function of the clinics are as follows:
- To provide both the medical consultations with pharmacotherapy advice and behavioural therapy for smoking cessation in a comprehensive manner.
- To raise awareness of the health risks associated with cigarette smoking and the benefits of quitting smoking through individual counselling and/or group therapy.
- To promote the prevention tobacco use and the exposure to others of second hand smoking.

- Assessment of the Patient’s Level of Tobacco/Nicotine Dependency and Readiness to Quit

PLEASE NOTE: A Smoking Cessation Support Group is also available in Arima. Meetings are monthly and will commence on July 26, 2023.
