The External Patient Programme was established in 2014 and aims at ensuring quality and timely healthcare to all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago in partnership with the Regional Health Authorities through a Public Private Initiative.
The External Patient Programme manages and ensures that patients receive the highest quality of care and attention with focus not only on quality but also patient experience and outcomes through monitoring and evaluation of the various Public Private Initiatives for the provision of surgical, radiological and laboratory services under its purview. The programme provides assistance for Angiograms, Open Heart Surgery, PCIS’s, Dialysis, Cataract, CT/MRI Scan, Vitreoretinal surgeries, Corneal Transplants and Joint Replacement surgeries and others. The Unit is committed to the provision of the highest quality care and patient centred experience.
