Port of Spain, August 18, 2023: The Ministry of Health (MoH), via its Chemistry, Food and Drug Division (CFDD) advises of the voluntary recall of Apo-Amitriptyline 10mg and 25mg and Apo-Acyclovir 200mg, 400mg and 800mg. Media Release - WHO Issues Alert for Naturcold Cough Syrup
Port of Spain, August 04, 2023: The Ministry of Health (MoH), advises the public of a medical product alert, issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) for a batch of substandard (contaminated) Naturcold Cough Syrup identified in Cameroon.
The alert was issued after samples of the cough syrup, used to relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, flu, and allergic rhinitis, showed unacceptable amounts of diethylene glycol. The public is advised that the compound is toxic to humans when consumed and can prove fatal.
